Our Show Team – Carinya British

Here at Carinya British Shorthairs, we believe that breeding to the show standard is paramount. Because of this, we are actively involved in showing our cats & have a well-rounded show team which includes kittens, entires & desexed. We do travel throughout Australia with our show team & believe unless they are happy with travelling & being on the show bench, they should be at home. A stressed & unhappy cat is not what we want for any of our babies.

While it is not necessary, we do like to have titles on our girls & this is why our boys will have larger titles & usually have Cat of Year placings & our girls won’t have that. Our girls like to stay at home & become mums which does take up quite some time, however, there are a special few who do love the show bench & these girls will become a staple in our team going forward.

2024 CQI – Supreme Shorthair Exhibit of Year

Remi loves the shows arena & has gained many Best in Group, Best of Breed & Supreme wins throughout his career. He will remain with us as part of our show team & then retire as a much-loved pet.

Remi joined us in South Australia for the Australian National Cat Show in June 2026. He placed well against an amazing line up of 62 Gp 3 desexed exhibits.

CH CARINYA THOR’S GOLDEN CHILD

Polly has only started her show career & has already taken several Top 5 placings & Best of Breed in Group awards for 2026. We are so proud of how Polly has taken to the show bench & just loves to strut her stuff. She is such a proud and easy-going girl.

Polly joined us in South Australia for the Australian National Cat Show in June 2026. Polly enjoyed her trip & has a very big job ahead of her as she thinks about motherhood.

GC CARINYA CHARMED LADY ELLA

While Ella isn’t the most outgoing girl around others, she rather likes being shown & does well in Top 5 placings. She has only been shown a few times & at her last show was awarded a reserve & 2 x 3rds in a large line up plus a Runner up in the British Specialty Ring judged by Emiko Misugi [CFA Hong Kong].

Ella joined us in South Australia for the Australian National Cat Show in June 2026. She came home with a Challenge award against 6 other British Blue Females. A great acheivement for a young girl.

GC CARINYA CHARMED TATTYANNA

Tattyanna is on a break at the moment while she plays mum to her little child Hope. Tattyanna attended the Inaugural Australian National Show in Sydney 2025 & did extremely well. This girl is a dream to not only show but own as well.

Tatty will be heading back to the show bench now that she has finished her motherly duties.

CARINYA CHARMED MELODY

Mia has just started her show career in 2026 & has had many Top 5 placings including Best in Group & Best of Breed exhibit. She is such a dream to show & loves everything pertaining to showing. Looking forward to watching this baby develop & seeing how she continues to go on the bench.

At her last show, in the British Specialty ring judged by Emiko Misugi [CFA Hong Kong], Mia was awarded Best British Exhibit in Show which was both a shock & an absolute delight.

Thor has semi-retired from showing as he is now 8 & he really has nothing more to prove. He loves just lazing at home with his sister enjoying the sunshine. He does come out for the odd show every now and then as he loves showing himself off & he fits the standard beautifully.

Ishy was one of those cats that loved being a showoff regardless of where she was. Everyone who met her was enamored by her.

At the 2018, 7 ring CCCA Nationals held in Brisbane at 9mths & 3days, against 7 other British S/H’s (5 males & 2 Females), she was awarded

3 x Best of Breed & 3 x Res Best of Breed British Shorthair
5 x Top 5 in Group including a Best in Group Entire Exhibit (Ring 5)
1 x Best Group 3 Exhibit (Ring 5)
Best All-Breeds Exhibit (Ring 5)

Ishy was a gorgeous girl & we are so glad her beautiful features still live on in some of our kids now.
